We are a growing FDA-regulated ointment manufacturing company located in Madison Heights, Michigan, specializing in a wide range of healthcare products including Hydrocortisone Cream, Triple Antibiotic Ointment, Diaper Rash Cream, Scar Cream, Antifungal Cream, and more. Our facility spans over 23,000 sq. ft. and produces high-quality, pharmaceutical-grade products distributed across the U.S.
We are seeking a Microbiologist/ Lab Technician to join our quality and production team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in microbiology and laboratory testing within a manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment.
Position: Microbiologist / Lab Technician
Location: Madison Heights, MI
Job Type: Full-Time, On-Site
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct microbiological testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished ointment products.
- Perform environmental monitoring of production and cleanroom areas to ensure compliance with GMP standards.
- Prepare, maintain, and analyze culture media, microbial plates, and test samples.
- Support stability studies and quality control testing in accordance with FDA and cGMP guidelines.
- Maintain accurate lab records, test reports, and documentation for audits and regulatory compliance.
- Assist with validation studies, including cleaning validation and sterility testing.
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance and Production teams to investigate and resolve microbial contamination issues.
- Ensure all testing equipment and instruments are calibrated, maintained, and used according to SOPs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology, Biology, or related scientific discipline (required).
- 1–3 years of experience in a microbiology or QC laboratory, preferably within the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, or healthcare product industry.
- Working knowledge of GMP, GLP, and FDA regulatory requirements.
- Experience with aseptic techniques, microbial identification, bioburden testing, and endotoxin testing preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and documentation accuracy.
- Ability to work independently in a cleanroom or laboratory setting.
