Principal Investigator — Lead Research Scientist

Clarus Labs is seeking a Principal Investigator (PI) with research experience to lead an exciting SBIR-funded project. Applicants must have experience in one or more of the following: chemistry, biology, agriculture, life sciences, biochemistry and/or related fields.  Our company (funded October 2025) is advancing a patented fluorescence-based testing platform for real-world applications in food, environmental, and diagnostic industries. This is an exceptional opportunity to shape a breakthrough technology at the intersection of science and commercialization. The position offers a 6–12 month flexible term with the potential for full-time employment contingent upon continued funding. We offer a competitive salary and equity participation (company ownership), providing both immediate impact and long-term growth potential. Exceptional candidates may also be considered for additional company ownership as part of a long-term commitment. The PI will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of chemists, engineers, and industry partners to drive experimental design, data validation, and technology development. Pay will be based on qualifications and time committed to the project.
