MBA Research is a highly-regarded national organization serving educators in middle schools, high schools, and community/technical colleges. Our company is a not-for-profit (501(c)(3)) organization established in 1971 and operated by a consortium of 25+ state education departments.

Job Summary:
This entry-level, part-time, hybrid role requires a highly organized, detail-oriented individual ready to make an impact on students’ lives. The Curriculum Associate is responsible for critical quality assurance, executing meticulous proofreading, and handling the publication of accurate curricular and instructional content on the Canvas-based Learning Center platform.

  • Comprehensive Proofreading: Conduct rigorous proofreading, including straight and comparison proofreading, across a variety of curricula and instructional materials.
  • Content Workflow Management: Prepare and format source materials to streamline the revision process.
  • Quality Control & Compliance: Verify all curricular content for grammatical accuracy, clarity, adherence to internal brand style guides (including APA style), and instructional consistency before final publication.
  • Collaboration & Tracking: Work closely with writers, editors, and designers to eliminate errors or inconsistencies. Clearly and concisely document, track, and communicate required content edits and necessary revisions to confirm adherence to style guides.
  • File Format Mastery: Execute proofreading and editing across diverse file types, including Microsoft Word documents, PowerPoint presentations, PDF handouts, and Articulate Rise eLearning lessons.
  • LMS Assistance: Accurately upload, organize, and publish new and revised instructional materials (lesson modules, course guides, assessments, etc.) to Canvas learning management system and collaborate with IT Support team members.
  • Ad Hoc Support: Provide general administrative, data entry, formatting, and proofreading support to the curriculum development team and Learning Center operations as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, files, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in proofreading, grammar, and style guide application.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft 365 (specifically utilizing OneDrive, SharePoint, Word, and PowerPoint), with expertise in editing tools like Track Changes.
  • Experience working with or ability to quickly learn Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Canvas.
  • COVID-19 vaccine required for employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • College degree, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Prior experience working in a curriculum development, instructional design, or publishing environment.
  • Experience in educational proofreading.
  • Familiarity with eLearning development tools, such as Articulate Rise.

Schedule: 25–30 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
