Litigation Paralegal
Watters Wolf Bub Hansmann (WWBH) is a large litigation firm (over 70+ attorneys) handling high-stakes, complex trial work. WWBH, known for its aggressive and proactive trial approach, seeks to hire a paralegal to become a part of their trial team with the paralegal’s duties to include witness interviews, background investigation, document and exhibit management, and trial attendance and preparation.
Position Overview
The Paralegal will support attorneys in all aspects of defense litigation. This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a solid understanding of litigation procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and prepare legal documents including pleadings, discovery requests/responses, subpoenas, and correspondence.
- Organize, maintain, and summarize case files, medical records, deposition transcripts, and other discovery materials.
- Assist with preparation for depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials.
- Conduct legal and factual research as needed.
- Manage case calendars, deadlines, and court filings (state and federal).
- Communicate with clients, experts, witnesses, and opposing counsel in a professional manner.
- Provide general administrative support to attorneys as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate from an accredited program preferred.
- 2+ years of experience as a litigation paralegal, preferably in insurance defense or civil litigation.
- Strong knowledge of court rules and procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and litigation support software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
