POSITION OVERVIEW: Wilhelm’s Hardware is seeking a motivated and creative Social Media and Online Sales Intern to join our team responsible for supporting the daily operations of Wilhelm’s Hardware by creating a great customer experience. This part-time internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in social media management and online sales, specifically focused on developing a social media presence and promoting Wilhelm’s Hardware. 

Hours are flexible to meet the needs of a full-time student schedule and remote hours are possible. Secondary objective is promoting and selling defined items through platforms such as Facebook Marketplace and eBay. Combined objective is to engage and inspire shoppers to buy from our retail establishment while helping maintain company sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Social Media Management:
    • Develop and implement a social media strategy to enhance Wilhelm’s Hardware’s presence on Facebook and Instagram.
    • Create and schedule engaging content related to our products, promotions, and company updates.
    • Monitor and respond to customer inquiries and comments on social media platforms.
    • Track and analyze social media performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Online Sales and Inventory Management:
    • Create listings for items in our inventory that are obsolete or closing out on Facebook Marketplace, eBay, and similar platforms.
    • Manage online sales processes, including communication with buyers, handling transactions, and ensuring timely delivery of items.
    • Track sales performance and provide regular updates and reports.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with the Wilhelm’s Hardware team to align online sales efforts with in-store promotions and inventory.
    • Participate in team meetings to discuss marketing strategies and provide insights based on social media and online sales data.

Qualifications:

  • Current student or recent graduate with a focus on business marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms, particularly Facebook and Instagram.
  • Experience with online sales platforms such as eBay and Facebook Marketplace is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative thinking and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
