Manufacturing Engineer Intern
Classification: Manufacturing Engineer INTERN
Reports to: Plant Manager
Essential Functions:
- Ensure all safety requirements are met
- Monitor manufacturing processes and recommend equipment and process improvements
- Identify cost savings opportunities and create implementation strategy
- Responsible for identifying and executing capital projects
- Work with operations team to diagnose and rectify process and part quality issues
- Perform other work as assigned
Education and Training
- Pursuit of Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Experience with mechanical drawings using various CAD systems including but not limited to Solidworks
- Good understanding of engineering drawing fundamentals, basic understanding of GD&T.
- Ability to accurately and efficiently 3D model from 2D print/CAD data.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles, able to identify and lead small kaizen projects.
- Able to accurately use basic metrology tools i.e; calipers, gauges, micrometers, etc.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Solid verbal and written skills
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
