About the Role

We’re looking for a part-time Social Media & Marketing Assistant to help us share that story across our digital platforms. This role is ideal for someone who’s both creative and analytical — someone who can craft visually engaging content, write compelling copy, and think strategically about how our brand connects with audiences online.

You’ll contribute to our social media channels, blog, and website, helping to develop original content that captures the behind-the-scenes magic of Mardi Gras World. The right candidate will be curious, motivated, and eager to learn — equally comfortable behind a camera, in front of editing software, and within a brainstorming session.

Responsibilities

• Create and schedule engaging content for Mardi Gras World’s social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, etc.)
• Write and edit blog posts and website content highlighting our exhibits, events, and creative process
• Capture and edit photo and video content for digital use
• Support branding and marketing campaigns with creative input and asset development
• Monitor engagement metrics and identify opportunities to strengthen our online presence
• Assist with special events, promotions, and other projects as needed

Preferred Skills

• Strong writing and communication skills
• Familiarity with major social media platforms and current trends
• Proficiency with design or editing tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Figma, or similar)
• Experience with photography or videography (knowledge of Final Cut, Premiere, or similar a plus)
• Organized, detail-oriented, and eager to learn in a fast-paced creative environment
