Deputy Juvenile Officer I-II-Child Protection & Permanency

What you will do:

  • Perform initial, in-depth interview with foster placement and birth family to accurately assess client’s situation and environment.
  • Oversee cases involving young individuals in the justice systems.
  • Act as an advocate for clients to ensure their best possible care and future welfare.
  • Testify before the Court as to the current environment of youth and propose a reunification or alternate permanency plan that would best serve the needs of the youth.
  • Prepare a written Court Report to accurately reflect assessments along with proposed plans to achieve permanency.
  • Provide guidance and support by conducting home, school and community visits, with the purpose of gathering further pertinent assessment information. 
  • Monitor a myriad of ongoing services with the community agencies/resources, and casework consistent with the needs of children and their families.

What is required to be successful in this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, social work, administration of justice, business administration, court management or related area, from an accredited university.
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, maintain vehicle insurance and an automobile 
  • Position prefers two years of experience in social work or related field.
