Research Intern PhD

Duties:
- Develop and execute a research agenda in collaboration with senior researchers and engineers.
- Design, implement, and evaluate experiments and prototype systems;
- Work on problems related to machine learning, data science, quantum algorithms, and related technologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate research into Google products and systems.
- Contribute to publishing research findings in leading academic journals and conferences;
- Share results, tools, and insights with the broader research community through open-source projects and publications.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a PhD program in Computer Science, Linguistics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Economics, Natural Sciences, or a related technical field;
- Experience in one or more computer science areas such as Natural Language Understanding, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Quantum Information Science, or Algorithmic Optimization.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, C++, or Java.
- Demonstrated research experience through publications, internships, or lab work;
- Must be available for a full-time internship of 12–14 weeks during Summer 2026 while located in the United States.
- English proficiency is required for collaboration across global teams.
Benefits and Instructions:
- The base salary range for this internship is $113,000–$150,000, depending on location, skills, and experience.
