Operations / Business Director
The Operations Director is responsible for general daily organization of camp and supply purchases. The Operations Director will also oversee and implement all off-camp trips including transportation, and work in conjunction with the Leadership Team to ensure safe and successful off-site travel.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works with Unit Leaders and Program Area Managers to order supplies for weekly activities for each unit.
- Orders and picks up camp operational and program supplies.
- Confirms all trip locations prior to departure and remits all travel receipts and paperwork.
- Manages the Trading Post program including inventory, sales reports, opening and closing day shopping, and camper shopping days.
- Maintains all camp vehicles, properly stows safety equipment and completes weekly monthly reports.
- Assists in the planning of the Staff Training schedule and ensures all training materials are available.
- Enforces camp policies (where applicable) with campers and staff.
- Answers the camp phone, responding to camper/parent questions, and managing a clean and tidy office space.
- Participates in all-camp activities such as campfires, flag ceremonies, and programs. This includes attending all meals with campers unless on time off.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Able to walk and stand for long periods of time on walkways and trails that may be uneven.
- Able to carry, lift, push, pull, or otherwise move heavy objects, supplies, or luggage.
- Responsive to visible and verbal signs of children’s distress.
- Able to live in a space with others and eat meals in a large, noisy environment.
- Ability to address stressful situations appropriately in a fast-paced, interactive environment.
- Emotionally resilient and capable of appropriate and sustained mental, emotional and social interactions in a constantly changing, youth-centered and community living setting.
