Experiences & Engagement Support Specialist

Position Overview:

 The Temporary Experiences & Engagement Support Specialist  provides critical support and operational reinforcement for events and activations at the 2026 Philadelphia Flower Show. This position helps ensures seamless execution of the many guest-facing experiences that make up the Show — from load-in and setup through closing day and load-out.

This role is highly hands-on and field-based, requiring extensive on-site presence and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset. Working closely with the Experiences & Engagement team, Show Operations, vendors, and volunteers, this individual will support daily logistics, oversee activations and events, and ensure an exceptional experience for guests, participants, and partners.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site support during all E&E-run phases of the Philadelphia Flower Show, including vendor load-in, setup, daily operations, and load-out.
  • Oversee the execution of events, experiences, and activations—ensuring each runs smoothly, safely, and in alignment with PHS standards and goals, as well as Union-related rules and regulations of the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
  • Liaise with vendors, exhibitors, volunteers, and staff, providing direction, communication, and support throughout the Show.
  • Support run-of-show logistics for multiple events, ensuring schedules stay on track and transitions are seamless.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for day-of troubleshooting, working collaboratively with PHS leadership, Shows team, Operations, and PCC teams to resolve issues quickly.
  • Uphold PHS’s commitment to hospitality, guest service, and professionalism, ensuring a welcoming and high-quality experience for all participants.
  • Support the Experiences & Engagement team in maintaining consistency of vision and execution.
  • Contribute to post-event wrap-up and load-out, including coordination with vendors and staff to ensure a smooth close.

 

Qualifications/Specification:

  • Minimum degree required: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
  • Years of experience: 4-6 years special event planning/implementation experience
  • Licenses/Certifications: N/A
  • Driver’s License:  A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required
  • Knowledges, Skills, Abilities required for success:
    1. Proven event planning and on-site execution skills, from concept through breakdown
    2. Ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and priorities with attention to detail
    3. Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Monday.com, Canva, and event management tools
    4. Strong sense of design, audience experience, and current trends in live events
    5. Excellent interpersonal and team leadership skills across staff, vendors, and volunteers
    6. Ability to navigate complex stakeholder needs and deliver mission-aligned outcomes
    7. Commitment to hospitality, service, and quality in every aspect of event delivery 

 

Standard Hours (including travel, evening, and weekend hours): PHS’s standard office hours are 9 AM to 5 PM at team member’s designated workspace. This position will be part-time (approximately 24 hours per week) in December and will increase to full-time (approximately 40 hours per week) in January with increased hours (40+) during the run of the Philadelphia Flower Show.

Physical Demands: This is largely a sedentary role that requires looking at a computer screen for extended periods of time; however, some physical demands will be required. See “Flower Show Requirements” for details. 

Flower Show Requirements: Hours preparing for the show and the duration of the show may not follow your regular work schedule. Your Flower Show schedule will depend upon your regular position or your temporary position supporting the Flower Show. You may be required to stand for long periods of time, do extensive walking, and lift up to 25 pounds.
