Lab Technician
A great client of ours is looking to fill a Lab Tech role on a swing shift rotation. Must be able to work all 3 rotations, weekends and holidays.
As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible of the following duties below.
- Maintain a clean and hygienic work environment in the laboratory.
- Represent QA Laboratory in daily production meetings.
- Executes ISO Quality Management System (QMS) procedures/standards critical to product realization and conformity requirements.
- Arrange for safe and procedurally-correct recycle of mercury and disposal of mercury-containing waste.
- Knowledgeable on accuracy, precision, limitations, applicability, standards, and calibrations. Interprets, records and reports data accurately - acts if needed.
- Coordinate the procurement of reagents and other supplies and services needed to run the laboratory.
- Collect and analyze composite, grab and other requested samples from the plant.
- Following standard procedures, perform required analytical tests on samples and notified PTL of any out of specification results.
- Perform quality control testing on composite samples of railcars and overseas shipping containers, following standard analytical procedures.
- Enter analytical results into quality reporting database (PQR) in an accurate and timely manner.
- Perform required testing on reference samples to ensure quality of results generated, responding to any out-of-control signals on reference sampled SPC control charts.
- Analyze samples sent from other sites (e.g., receiving sites, MTS, Projects & Technologies).
- Use of SAP to release and track QA results of shipments and to input work notifications for laboratory infrastructure maintenance.
- Participates in equipment troubleshooting, organizes equipment calibration in accordance with the ISO Quality Management System (QMS) and schedules/performs preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment.
- Drafts, reviews, and improves testing Laboratory procedures in line with policies and standards.
Requirements
- You must have legal authorization to work in the USA on a full-time basis for anyone other than your current employer.
- Candidate must have at least minimum of 3 (three) years of working experience in any work-related industries.
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, related field of study or equivalent preferred
- Ability to read and comprehend written material, write procedures, policies, and correspondence.
- Broad knowledge of safe chemical laboratory bench work practices.
- Ability to make presentations.
- Ability to work more than the normal 40-hour workweek, including non-standard hours and rotating shifts.
- Must be able to communicate on the telephone with all levels of SC&T and associated companies, vendors, and customers.
- Ability to travel as required for training and company business.
- Knowledgeable in computer skills using Excel, Word, SAP, and PI Vision.
- Demonstrated abilities to troubleshoot instrumentation and method related issues.
