A great client of ours is looking to fill a Lab Tech role on a swing shift rotation. Must be able to work all 3 rotations, weekends and holidays.

 

As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible of the following duties below.

  1. Maintain a clean and hygienic work environment in the laboratory.
  2. Represent QA Laboratory in daily production meetings.
  3. Executes ISO Quality Management System (QMS) procedures/standards critical to product realization and conformity requirements.
  4. Arrange for safe and procedurally-correct recycle of mercury and disposal of mercury-containing waste.
  5. Knowledgeable on accuracy, precision, limitations, applicability, standards, and calibrations. Interprets, records and reports data accurately - acts if needed.
  6. Coordinate the procurement of reagents and other supplies and services needed to run the laboratory.
  7. Collect and analyze composite, grab and other requested samples from the plant.
  8. Following standard procedures, perform required analytical tests on samples and notified PTL of any out of specification results.
  9. Perform quality control testing on composite samples of railcars and overseas shipping containers, following standard analytical procedures.
  10. Enter analytical results into quality reporting database (PQR) in an accurate and timely manner.
  11. Perform required testing on reference samples to ensure quality of results generated, responding to any out-of-control signals on reference sampled SPC control charts.
  12. Analyze samples sent from other sites (e.g., receiving sites, MTS, Projects & Technologies).
  13. Use of SAP to release and track QA results of shipments and to input work notifications for laboratory infrastructure maintenance.
  14. Participates in equipment troubleshooting, organizes equipment calibration in accordance with the ISO Quality Management System (QMS) and schedules/performs preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment.
  15. Drafts, reviews, and improves testing Laboratory procedures in line with policies and standards.

 

Requirements

 

  1. You must have legal authorization to work in the USA on a full-time basis for anyone other than your current employer.
  2. Candidate must have at least minimum of 3 (three) years of working experience in any work-related industries.
  3. Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, related field of study or equivalent preferred
  4. Ability to read and comprehend written material, write procedures, policies, and correspondence.
  5. Broad knowledge of safe chemical laboratory bench work practices.
  6. Ability to make presentations.
  7. Ability to work more than the normal 40-hour workweek, including non-standard hours and rotating shifts.
  8. Must be able to communicate on the telephone with all levels of SC&T and associated companies, vendors, and customers.
  9. Ability to travel as required for training and company business.
  10. Knowledgeable in computer skills using Excel, Word, SAP, and PI Vision.
  11. Demonstrated abilities to troubleshoot instrumentation and method related issues.
  12. Equipment Used to Perform Job including but not limited to: Computers, Hand Tools (Wrench, Spatulas, Measuring Spoons), Hydraulic Press, Hand Cart (Shopping Basket), Dolly Cart, Scales, mini–Spray Dryer, X-Ray Fluorescence Instruments, Mercury Porosimeter, General Laboratory Equipment
