Location: Scottsdale, AZ (Hybrid)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join an amazing accounting team in the Greater Phoenix Area. Under management’s direction, you will perform professional accounting work, including the examination, analysis, maintenance, reconciliation, and verification of financial records, while supporting the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of periodic consolidated financial statements, including quarterly and annual reports, by accumulating, preparing, and analyzing supporting documentation
- Prepare monthly and quarterly journal entries
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and bank statements on a monthly basis
- Maintain fixed asset records at the corporate level
- Collaborate on drafting MD&A and footnote disclosures
- Ensure financial information is prepared timely, accurately, and in accordance with US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
- Identify potential accounting issues and opportunities for process improvement
- Assist with research and documentation of emerging accounting guidance
- Prepare analyses and reconciliations of consolidated corporate accounts
- Support internal controls documentation to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirements
- Provide assistance to external auditors during audits and interim reviews
- Participate in special projects, including implementation of new accounting standards and continuous improvement initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 1–2 years of relevant accounting experience in public accounting or a corporate finance department
- CPA designation or CPA candidate preferred
- Knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
- Experience with technical research and preparation of accounting documentation
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
