Collector
Collector, Full Time
A Collector is responsible for evaluating and monitoring each outstanding account, in accordance to their assigned financial class, to ensure that maximum financial reimbursement is received. This includes reviewing and managing daily payment reports or work queues, productively researching and resolving balance discrepancies, providing clear and supportive documentation of these findings, and efficiently follows up with patients, family members, co-workers, management, physicians, other department staff, and other third parties.
Shift: M-F, 8:30 AM - 5:00PM
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and third party payor’s policies and guidelines required
- Good understanding of payer remittance advices preferred.
- Previous medical billing or collections experience required.
- Excellent communications and computer skills required.
Physical Requirements:
- Good physical health, emotional maturity and stability to function while under stress.
- Demonstrates an attitude of support and cooperation in the achievement of the goals of the department and Iredell Memorial Hospital.
- Must possess full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test for position to include walking, kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching and sitting for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
