Facility Rental and Event Manager

Position Available: Facility Rental and Event Manager

Are you an experienced event professional ready to take the lead in a thriving facility rental program? If so, join the Michigan Wildlife Conservancy’s team at the Bengel Wildlife Center. We are seeking a Facility Rental and Event Manager to oversee and grow a department with a 10-year proven track record of successful weddings, corporate events, and community gatherings. 

About the Role

The Facility Rental and Event Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of our rental operations—from client inquiries and contract management to event coordination and on-site logistics. This is a full-time leadership position with the opportunity to shape the future of a well-established department known for excellence, professionalism, and memorable experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all facility rentals, including weddings, corporate functions, and special events
  • Manage client relations from initial inquiry through post-event follow-up
  • Supervise part-time staff, vendors, and on-site event support teams
  • Maintain booking calendars, budgets, and operational reports
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to attract and retain clients
  • Ensure that all events meet organizational standards and client expectations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 3–5 years of event or facility management experience is preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Customer-service mindset with attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite a must and CRM, event management software a plus 
  • Ability to work weekends and must be able to start by mid-January at the latest, immediately is available.
