Grain Operations Internship
Primary objective for the Operations Internship will be shadowing and working alongside the terminal supervisor, operations employees, and office staff to learn all aspects of the grain industry.
Role and Responsibilities
- Learn the importance of inventory quantities as well as quality of inventory.
- Support grain handling operations including transferring, drying and shipping grain.
- Observe and assist with routine maintenance and inspection of equipment and facilities.
- Understand elevator logistics such as monitoring grain flow, inbound/outbound grain quantity and quality specs.
- Interact professionally with farmers and truck drivers during grain deliveries.
- Participate in grain quality testing, sampling and documentation.
- Participate in overseeing test plots, by plot maintenance as well as plot tours and events.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an Agricultural College program.
- Strong interest in grain operations or agricultural business.
- Ability to work with raised arms for a period of time.
- Knowledge of agricultural commodities.
- Excellent time management and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, outdoor environment and to lift up to 50lbs.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
- Valid Driver's License.
