We’re currently a small team passionate about developing the next generation of digital products. Our founding has team spent time building, designing, and scaling products at places like Google, Tesla, Palantir, MIT, Finary (YC W21), Scale AI, etc. We’re an in-person team collaborating from warm and sunny New York City.

Job Title: Product Manager

 

Location: New York City (headquarters)

 

Role Mission:

 

As a Product Manager (PM) at Scope Labs, you will partner with Product and Leadership to drive product development for our clients. Starting with one core client engagement, you'll develop expertise in creating product specs, owning a feature roadmap, leading client communications, and coordinating with engineering. You will have the opportunity to grow into broader product strategy responsibilities, including opportunities to work with additional clients and spearheading internal product development process improvements.

Core Responsibilities:

 

Product Development

 

  • Document and organize client feedback and feature requests, prioritizing upcoming initiatives from your product intuition, internal feedback, client feedback, and user insights
  • Create clear, detailed product specifications following Scope Labs' established formats
  • Partner with engineering teams to shepherd features from conception to launch
  • Conduct QA testing to ensure high-quality deliverables
  • Identify opportunities for product improvements through customer calls, platform usage, and product analytics

Client Management

 

  • Lead client communications via Slack and other async channels, triaging requests and questions as needed
  • Participate in weekly client meetings, gradually taking on presentation responsibilities
  • Help maintain client roadmaps and provide updates on delivery progress

Process & Operations

 

  • Learn and champion Scope Labs' weekly release cycle process
  • Participate in sprint planning and engineering coordination
  • Help manage bug triage and prioritization
  • Suggest process improvements and proactively bring up what is / isn’t working

Growth Path - First 3 Months

 

Month 1: Foundation

 

  • Shadow client meetings and internal processes
  • Learn Scope Labs' spec writing approach
  • Develop deep understanding of 1-2 client's platforms, basic understanding of additional clients’ platforms
  • Begin drafting specs and owning feature development with Product mentorship

Month 2: Growing Ownership

 

  • Begin presenting in client meetings
  • Start to more fully take over client communications
  • Take point on spec writing
  • Begin coordinating directly with engineering team
  • Start managing parts of release process

Month 3: Independence

 

  • Lead entire client meetings
  • Own spec creation end-to-end
  • Own the feature roadmap end-to-end
  • Own all client communications
  • Manage feature delivery independently
  • Contribute to high-level product strategy discussions
  • Start expanding to an additional client as bandwidth allows

Additional Opportunities

 

  • Suggesting and implementing process improvements for Scope Labs product development organization
  • Contributing to internal product development discussions and broader strategic conversations
  • Learn from multiple client contexts and industries, leaning into areas that you are most excited about
  • Expand to additional client engagements after initial ramp-up

Nice-to-Haves:

 

  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g. Asana, Linear, Notion, Jira).
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams including product, design, and engineering.
  • Previous experience in client strategy or customer success roles at a high-growth company.
