Junior Database Administrator

Position Summary

As a Junior Database Administrator, you’ll help maintain and optimize our Microsoft SQL Server environment and other data-centric systems that support critical firm operations — from accounting to document management. You’ll gain hands-on experience with database design, performance tuning, and Azure-based solutions in a collaborative environment that values curiosity and continuous learning.

What You’ll Do

* Support, maintain, and optimize Microsoft SQL Server databases

* Monitor data integrity, backups, and high-availability environments

* Handle database sizing, provisioning, and maintenance

* Troubleshoot performance issues and fine-tune SQL queries

* Manage user and database security

* Install and configure new SQL Server environments

* Collaborate with software engineering teams to develop database solutions

* Support integrations, data transfers (SSIS/DTS), and reporting platforms (SSRS/Crystal Reports)

* Assist IT and Finance with data analysis, reports, and automation

* Document standards and procedures to keep our systems humming

 

What We’re Looking For

* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field

* Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2012 or later

* Familiarity with PowerShell or .NET (a plus!)

* Strong communication and teamwork skills — you’re the kind of person who listens, learns, and contributes

* Detail-oriented, organized, and able to juggle multiple projects

* A passion for technology, problem-solving, and learning new tools
