YourTango — the premier media company dedicated to love, relationships, and personal growth — is looking for a creative, self-motivated Social Media & Video Editing Intern to work directly with Andrea Miller, our Founder & CEO, helping to grow her personal social media presence and expand the reach of her podcast, Getting Open.

This role will focus heavily on video editing, short-form content strategy, and engagement across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. You'll help edit and post original video clips and brainstorm new ways to connect Andrea's content to YourTango's audience.

This is a fully remote, part-time internship (20 hours/week). Approximately 15 hours/week will be spent supporting Andrea's channels, and 5 hours/week will be allocated to other YourTango departments, such as Editorial, Social Media, or Video, depending on interest and company needs.

Typical Intern Tasks:

  • Edit and upload short-form video clips for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube using Andrea's filmed content (both original and podcast clips).
  • Write engaging, on-brand captions and choose hashtags that align with Andrea's messaging around relationships, growth, and mindset.
  • Schedule and cross-promote content across Andrea's channels and YourTango's accounts when appropriate.
  • Track analytics and performance to help refine posting strategies.
  • Identify trending audio, formats, and creative opportunities to boost visibility.
  • Assist with basic graphic design and quote-style post creation (using Canva or similar tools).
  • Support the broader YourTango social team on small projects such as story scheduling, post optimization, and audience engagement.
  • Participate in team brainstorms and strategy meetings.

What You'll Learn:

  • How to develop and manage a personal brand on social media in alignment with a media company's editorial voice.
  • The fundamentals of short-form video editing and how to optimize clips for reach and engagement.
  • How to analyze performance metrics and adjust social media strategy accordingly.

Requirements:

  • Access to your own computer and a reliable internet connection.
  • Ability to communicate consistently throughout your scheduled shifts with our team in real-time via Slack and email for chatting, voice calls, video calls, conference calls, and screen-sharing.
  • Ability to work a SET weekly schedule between Monday and Friday. (The schedule is to be approved at the beginning of the internship.)
  • Available to work 20 hrs per week between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM ET for 4 months. The last day of the internship will be calculated 4 months after the start date. NOTE: Like in a regular in-office setting, when you're online during your shift, you'll be interacting via Slack and available at a moment's notice during your scheduled times, actively working throughout the day - so please make sure that you can be fully available during the 20-hour schedule you decide on before accepting the internship.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in short-form video editing tools (e.g., CapCut, Premiere Rush, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts best practices.
  • Excellent writing skills, especially for writing captions that drive engagement.
  • Creative eye for visual storytelling and brand consistency.
  • Reliable communication skills and ability to meet deadlines in a remote environment.
  • Self-starter attitude — comfortable taking initiative and bringing fresh ideas.
  • Access to your own computer, editing software, and a reliable internet connection.

Preferred but not required:

  • Experience managing or creating content for a public social media account (brand, creator, or personal).
  • Interest in relationships, psychology, wellness, or personal development topics.

Supervision & Feedback:

  • Primary Supervisor: Andrea Miller, CEO & Founder (for Andrea's personal social media work)
  • Secondary Supervisors: Editorial Director Micki Spollen and Chief Content Officer Sabrina James (for cross-departmental tasks)
  • Regular feedback will be provided via Slack and monthly check-ins.
  • Optional mid-semester and end-semester evaluations are available if required by your school.

Eligibility, Pay & Stipend:

  • Must be located within the continental U.S.
  • Internship term: 4 months (20 hours per week).
  • $1500 stipend paid upon successful completion of the internship (college credit optional).
  • Internship adheres to the Fair Labor Standards Act and U.S. Department of Labor guidelines.
