Aftermarket Director
Job Summary
The Aftermarket & Circularity organization manages the complete post-sale lifecycle for Gotion’s battery systems, spanning service operations, parts supply, reverse logistics, and end-of-life recycling.
Our goal is to build a world-class, customer-focused aftermarket platform in the U.S. that ensures reliability, responsiveness, and sustainability.
The team is developing an independent SOHO (Service Outlet) network, a nationwide 3PL/warehouse footprint governed by PFEP and RTP standards, and an integrated recycling and remanufacturing strategy.
We partner closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and EHS to support our customers through every stage of product ownership.
Position Summary
The Aftermarket Director will design, launch, and lead Gotion’s aftermarket and service operations for lithium-ion cells, modules, packs, and energy-storage systems across North America.
This role is responsible for building a scalable service network, optimizing parts and logistics operations, and developing recycling and reman programs that strengthen customer satisfaction and long-term value.
The ideal candidate brings a proven record in OEM-style aftermarket management, strong operational discipline, and the ability to drive both customer uptime and service profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Service Strategy & Organization Leadership
- Develop and execute the North American aftermarket strategy covering service operations, technical support, and reverse logistics.
- Build the organization, talent, and capabilities required to deliver industry-leading uptime and customer satisfaction.
- Establish governance, KPIs, and data dashboards for service quality, parts availability, MTTR, warranty cost, and recovery yield.
Service Network Development
- Design and implement the U.S. SOHO (Service Outlet) network, balancing owned and authorized service centers for optimal coverage and response.
- Define partner qualification, SLAs, audit cadence, and exit criteria to ensure consistent service standards.
- Build trusted relationships with major customers, service dealers, and regional contractors; negotiate commercial terms and performance expectations.
Parts, Warehousing & Logistics
- Lead the aftermarket parts supply chain, including PFEP planning, 3PL operations, and inventory optimization.
- Deliver ≥95% parts-fill rate and ≥98% inventory accuracy through disciplined process control and supplier scorecards.
- Oversee RTP container lifecycle management, hazardous material logistics (UN3480/3481), and compliance with DOT/IATA regulations.
Technical Service & Field Support
- Direct resolution of high-impact field issues; lead 8D and FMEA analyses in collaboration with Engineering and Quality.
- Drive continuous improvement through root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and lessons-learned integration.
- Deploy remote diagnostics, monitoring, and predictive maintenance systems to improve responsiveness and reduce downtime.
Warranty, Budget, and Business Performance
- Manage the annual operating plan (labor, logistics, parts, warranty, and claims) with accountability for cost, ROI, and service margin targets.
- Define and enforce warranty and extended-coverage policies, ensuring consistent application and financial control.
- Develop new service revenue streams such as maintenance contracts, training programs, and extended-life packages.
Recycling & Circularity Leadership
- Lead end-of-life battery recovery, recycling, and remanufacturing programs in alignment with EPA RCRA, OSHA, DOT/IATA, and state EPR requirements.
- Build strategic partnerships with certified recyclers and second-life solution providers to establish a closed-loop materials strategy.
- Track and report recovery yield, turnaround time, and cost-per-ton metrics; integrate sustainability performance into overall business KPIs.
Customer Experience & Brand Representation
- Own the customer satisfaction and NPS metrics; ensure proactive communication, escalation management, and issue resolution.
- Represent Gotion at key customer and industry forums, strengthening our reputation as a reliable clean-energy partner.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- 10+ years in aftermarket, service, or distribution leadership roles within industrial equipment, automotive, or energy-storage sectors.
- 5+ years of experience leading multi-site teams or dealer/service networks with direct budget and P&L accountability.
- Proven ability to launch and scale aftermarket operations—preferably with OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers (e.g., Caterpillar, Cummins, Bosch).
- Deep understanding of parts operations, warehouse management, PFEP, and reverse logistics.
- Hands-on experience with lithium-ion systems, BMS diagnostics, and field-service processes.
- Regulatory fluency in EPA RCRA, OSHA HV safety, DOT/IATA hazmat logistics, and EPR compliance.
- Strong financial acumen and data-driven decision-making; proficiency with ERP/WMS/CRM systems and BI tools.
- Willingness to travel 30–40% domestically.
Preferred:
- Experience managing a service dealer/distributor network or channel partner program.
- Background in establishing recycling or remanufacturing operations in North America.
- Lean Six Sigma or process-improvement certification.
- Proficiency in analytics platforms (Power BI, Tableau, SQL).
- Demonstrated cross-cultural leadership and commercial negotiation capability.

Base pay is one part of our total compensation package at Gotion, and is determined within a range. This provides you with the opportunity to progress as you grow and advance your career at Gotion. The base pay range for this role is shown below, and will depend on your skills, qualifications, experiences, and location.
Expected Pay Range
$160,000 - $200,000 USD
