STEM Program Assistant Intern
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and develop STEM-related activities for various engagement programs including camps, homeschool programs, out-of-school programs, STEM events and others as assigned
- Assist with the facilitation of museum programs, large-scale events and daily engagement activities
- Research STEM practices, STEM activities and STEM programs at other institutions including NASA and share findings with supervisor and engagement team to integrate in programming
- Assist with program evaluation
- Maintain a portfolio of work, evaluative summaries and reflection notes based on experience
- Attend project team and staff meetings
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Required Skills:
- Pursing college degree in STEM Education, Elementary or Secondary Education, Museum Studies, Science or related field
- Preferred experience working with children
- Self-motivated, problem-solver, visitor-centered and organized
- Project management and communication skills
- Ability to adapt and be flexible in a program
- Excellent customer service and time management
Position Shift:
The intern and supervisor will plan schedule upon acceptance of the position. The preferred hours will occur Monday through Friday between 9am and 5pm; weekend hours dependent on programs and events. Hours per week range from 20-25 hours per week.
This is a paid internship at $16.73/hour
Position Evaluation:
Ongoing feedback and a final evaluation at the end of the internship. A mid-term evaluation is available, upon request or warranted for the internship.
