Operations Leadership Trainee
Mashburn Delivery Services (MDS) is hiring for an Operations Leadership Trainee to join our growing team!
Summary:
The Operations Leadership Trainee is a hands-on, multi-functional role designed to prepare future leaders at Mashburn Delivery Services. This position combines aspects of warehouse management, logistics coordination, office administration, and general management training. The trainee will learn the business from the ground up—leading people, managing processes, and ensuring every delivery and installation reflects our mission of Delivering Trust. Guided by our C.A.P.E. values (Customer Focus, Accountability, Professionalism, and Efficiency), this role supports daily operations while developing into an Assistant General Manager or other leadership position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Warehouse & Logistics Operations
- Support daily warehouse activities including receiving, inventory management, packing, and dispatching shipments.
- Ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment while maintaining operational schedules.
- Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure precision, professionalism, and customer satisfaction.
Office & Administrative Management
- Assist with scheduling, reporting, and communication between warehouse, office, and delivery staff.
- Prepare reports, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and monitor team metrics.
- Help ensure all operational documentation is accurate and up to date.
Staff Supervision & Leadership Development
- Support the supervision of warehouse and office staff while learning performance management practices.
- Assist in hiring, onboarding, and training new employees.
- Act as a delegate to the General Manager or Assistant General Manager as needed.
Customer Experience & Problem Resolution
- Promote a customer-focused approach to all operations.
- Assist in resolving escalated customer issues with professionalism and accountability.
Continuous Improvement & Safety
- Identify and suggest opportunities to improve efficiency and processes.
- Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
- Support audits and maintain accurate operational records.
Other Duties
- May require travel up to 10% of the time.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities across warehouse, logistics, and administrative functions.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with logistics or inventory management systems preferred.
- Ability to coach, lead, and motivate staff while modeling professionalism.
- Detail-oriented, adaptable, and customer-focused.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or office management.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- OSHA 300 and Forklift certification required or ability to obtain within first year.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to move throughout the warehouse to coordinate with staff.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Corrected vision to normal range; normal hearing and verbal communication required.
- Ability to use a variety of office equipment and machinery.
