About the Company
Our client is a $3B revenue organization investing in applied AI and machine learning to optimize pricing, demand forecasting, and operational efficiency. With several data science projects already in motion, including matching and prediction algorithms, they’re now seeking a dedicated Data Science team to help maintain and evolve existing models while laying the groundwork for future expansion.
Role Overview
This is an initial engagement designed to stabilize and extend the client’s current modeling capabilities. Our team will partner closely with their AI/ML lead to assess model performance, define a maintenance roadmap, and explore opportunities for new predictive and optimization algorithms.
The focus areas include:
- Maintaining and refining production models.
- Extending models to support pricing elasticity, demand optimization, and segmentation analysis.
- Working with internal stakeholders to identify new use cases and data requirements.
- Building APIs for model accessibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Audit and maintain existing ML models (Snowflake-based pipelines; some AWS components).
- Develop enhancements for pricing optimization and provider rate modeling.
- Collaborate on roadmap design, helping define how data science fits into broader business strategy.
- Partner with internal business analysts to validate model outputs and impact.
- Document workflows, data dependencies, and handoff protocols for sustainability.
Tech Stack
- Languages: Python
- Data & Modeling: Snowflake (core environment), AWS (light usage)
- Integration: API development for model access
-
Tools/Approach: Applied ML, predictive modeling, elasticity optimization
Ideal Background
- Master’s or PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Proven experience maintaining and optimizing production ML models.
- Strong understanding of pricing models, elasticity, and demand forecasting.
- Ability to balance model accuracy with business relevance, high stakes decisions (e.g., “getting it wrong costs hundreds of millions”).
- Comfortable in agile, high-expectation environments with evolving scope.
