Position Overview:
The American Senior Benefits Intern will work with the team to understand the industry and its impact on the community. They will be expected to have office etiquette, learn marketing and sales techniques, work with complex schedules, and understand how American Senior Benefits puts people back into the people business. Each intern will have the opportunity to creatively suggest and present a project that will better the office and/or community. Project presentations can vary between individual based on their expertise, passion projects, and major.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and executing social media campaigns and podcasts
  • Support event coordination and promotional activities
  • Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions
  • Weekly Check-ins with Managing Partners
  • Complete Pre-Licensing Course
  • Pass the Ohio State Life and Health Exam
  • Recruitment for future interns and/or agents 
     

Qualifications:

  • Preferred if currently or recently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and basic analytics tools
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and willing to learn
  • Background check for Insurance License may be required

     

Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this internship, the student will have a thorough understanding of the insurance industry for life, health, financial and legacy programs. The intern will have developed practical skills in marketing, cross-functional teamwork, preparing them for future roles in marketing, business, communications, or other related fields. They will have earned a State of Ohio Life and Health License which could enable them to become a future insurance broker, or on their way to becoming a Financial Advisor.
