Part-Time Emergency Management Intern
The Clark County Water Reclamation District is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the position of Part-Time Emergency Management Intern.
This position will be responsible for:
- Assisting with documenting training sessions and maintaining emergency management files.
- Supporting the review and updating of emergency response plans.
- Participating in preparedness training activities.
- Contributing to the planning and execution of emergency exercises.
We are looking for candidates with:
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Accurate and efficient typing skills
- Familiarity with the National Incident Management System (NIMS)
- Understanding of the Incident Command System (ICS) and its principles
- Knowledge of the five phases of emergency management: prevention, mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery
Please Note: Part-time employment will not lead to permanent employment. Part-time hourly employees are used to fill positions normally less than twenty (20) hours per week. Part-time employees do not receive benefits.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be a local student currently enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Emergency and Crisis Management, or closely related field. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older. Graduation from high school or equivalent.

Emergency Management Service Group:
Duties include:
- Organizing and booking emergency training sessions and related events
- Tracking and maintaining staff training records and progress
- Supporting the development of emergency plans and documentation
- Assisting with exercise planning and progress meetings
- Setting up, preparing, and tearing down meeting spaces
- Operating a motor vehicle for job-related tasks
- Learning to operate and interpret GIS mapping systems
- Building and maintaining relationships with emergency management partners
- Updating emergency rosters using Microsoft Excel
- Researching emergency management-related grant opportunities
- Assisting with emergency planning and updates in compliance with NRS
- Contributing to the development of after-action reports and incident response documentation
- Creating staff notifications for inclement weather events
- Supporting first responder site familiarization efforts
- Tracking and updating emergency supply inventories
- Performing other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
