About The Center for Mother-Daughter Trauma Recovery & Prevention (TCFMDTRP)
The Center for Mother-Daughter Trauma Recovery & Prevention (TCFMDTRP) is a trauma-focused behavioral-health practice specializing in the impact of mother-daughter and family-of-origin trauma on identity, relationships, and well-being. Our work explores how early relational experiences shape how people see themselves, connect with others, and move through the world.
We serve three signature initiatives:
- Trauma-Informed Campus Collective (TICC): Partnering with universities to support students navigating family estrangement, trauma, and identity challenges while promoting academic success, emotional resilience, and a deeper sense of belonging on campus.
- Provider Longevity Project (PLP): Helping healthcare providers sustain long, meaningful, and mission-driven careers by addressing burnout, compassion fatigue, and the family-of-origin stressors that influence professional fulfillment and retention.
- Beyond Belief Alliance (BBA): Supporting individuals whose early introduction to faith was rooted in control and coercive maternal influence by helping them heal religious trauma and redefine spirituality and family on their own terms.
About the Role
This is not a traditional internship, it’s a leadership pipeline and an integral part of our organizational growth strategy. You will apply your operational, administrative, and strategic coordination skills to streamline and strengthen the multi-state systems that support our national expansion.
Your work will directly influence how TCFMDTRP scales across regions through the efficiency, consistency, and sustainability of its internal operations. Candidates who demonstrate initiative, precision, and systems-level thinking will be considered for full-time transition into a Practice Manager role, with potential advancement to Chief Operating Officer (COO) as the organization continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
Phase 1: Intern (Months 1–3)
- Learn practice systems: EHR, HIPAA, scheduling, insurance onboarding, billing workflows.
- Support intakes and scheduling across TICC, PLP, and BBA.
- Track and organize partner agreements and outreach logs.
- Identify workflow inefficiencies and propose improvements.
- Draft internal and client newsletters.
Phase 2: Assistant Practice Manager (Months 4–9)
- Manage client onboarding and referral systems.
- Run insurance eligibility checks and support billing submissions.
- Deliver monthly operational reports on client flow and retention.
- Track clinician compliance and send renewal reminders.
- Coordinate HR basics: time-off logs, coverage, and communication.
- Lead at least two improvement projects to streamline systems or increase efficiency.
Phase 3: Practice Manager (Months 10–12+)
- Oversee daily multi-state operations: scheduling, billing, compliance, HR coordination.
- Manage full billing cycle and reconcile revenue reports.
- Supervise administrative staff, including new interns.
- Maintain compliance calendars across all licensed states.
- Deliver monthly dashboards on growth and performance metrics.
- Drive national growth by onboarding new university, provider, and organizational partners.
Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor’s degree (or upper-level coursework) in Healthcare Administration, Business Management, or Operations.
- Must have prior internship or coursework experience in healthcare operations, administration, or systems management.
- Baseline knowledge of organizational workflows (billing cycles, scheduling, compliance, HR coordination).
- Proficiency in project management, data tracking, scheduling systems, and Excel or similar tools.
- Coursework in healthcare delivery systems or operations management preferred.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities across states.
- Passion for trauma-informed care, innovation, and operational excellence.
Why This Role Is Unique
This is not a support position, it’s a growth seat. The practice’s scalability and daily operations depend on your performance. If you’re someone who brings structure, improves processes, and thrives on seeing ideas become sustainable systems, you will help shape the next era of TCFMDTRP.
