We place the following Special Education and Mental Health professionals at elementary and secondary schools: Intervention Specialist, Remedial Teacher/Title 1 Teacher, Gifted or Enrichment Teacher, School Psychologist, Mental Health Counselor, Speech Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapist/COTA, Board Certified Behavior Analyst and Registered Behavior Technician.

Job Summary
The Remedial Teacher/Title 1 Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering lessons that go beyond the traditional curriculum. They may focus on a particular subject area, or they may create their own curriculum based on student interests and needs. Remedial Teachers often work with students who have special needs, who demonstrate above average academic skills, or who require additional attention outside of the regular classroom instruction. Academic skills often include reading, writing, spelling, and math. The Remedial Teacher will work with small groups or individual students to address gaps in learning, promote academic achievement, and assist students in reaching their full academic potential. The Remedial Teacher may provide support and services to students within the general education classroom as prescribed by Wraparound Experts and the principal of the school.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in education, early childhood education, or a related field, required
- Valid Ohio Department of Education License, required**
- Valid driver’s license, required
- Pass and maintain clear FBI and BCI background check, required
- Successful experience working with children in an academic environment
- Collaborative, constructive team building skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with students, parents, and other staff members
- Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality and use sound judgment in all aspects of the job
**(The 1 Year Substitute Multi-Age PK-12 License from the Ohio Department of Education does NOT meet the requirements for this role.)
Responsibilities
- Preparing lesson plans and activities in accordance with school curriculum requirements and academic standards.
- Use a variety of instructional materials and strategies to engage students and help them improve their academic performance.
- Teaching students basic academic skills such as reading, spelling, writing, and math.
- Creating stimulating learning environments through the use of hands-on activities, manipulatives, technology, and other tools.
- Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that promotes student engagement, confidence, and independence
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, including data on assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding their child’s progress and how they can support learning at home. Discuss intervention strategies and solicit feedback.
- Provide targeted instruction and interventions to students in accordance with Title I guidelines and individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and other support staff to identify students in need of Title I services and develop appropriate intervention plans.
- Implement evidence-based instructional strategies to support student learning in literacy and mathematics, including small group instruction and differentiated instruction.
- Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to meet the academic needs of students adjusting instructional strategies as necessary to meet students' needs while engaging students and helping them improve their academic performance.
- Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that promotes student engagement, confidence, and independence
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, including data on assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding their child’s progress and how they can support learning at home. Discuss intervention strategies and solicit feedback.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on educational best practices and Title I program guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with other staff members, including administrators and support staff, to ensure the success of students in the Title I program.
