Summer 2026 Intern, Front Office - Monetary Affairs

About the Team

The Division of Monetary Affairs (MA) supports the Federal Reserve’s deliberations, decisions, and communications regarding monetary policy and financial stability. MA’s Front Office team (FO) provides support to the division director and other members of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) by managing key divisional programs and processes that foster the vision and goals of MA.

About the Role

As our intern you will learn about the operations that enable the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy development. You read about us in the news; here’s what happens behind the scenes to make it all possible. You'll support seasoned professionals on critical, highly visible initiatives that keep our research and analysis capabilities at the leading edge.

Your focus for the summer will be assisting with developing a comprehensive, repeatable framework for planning and delivering the Thomas Laubach Award. The framework will improve planning efficiency, role clarity and institutional memory. The project timeline spans from June to August 2026.

About You (Background/Skills)

You should be/have:

Currently enrolled in a undergraduate or graduate degree program in public policy, public administration, business, management, organizational development, communications, or a related field.

  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Interest and ability to work with stakeholders at various levels of the organization
  • Experience in using Excel to review, and analyze data as well as creating charts and graphs
  • Interest in project management, program management, or communications is preferred.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Applicant must be a current student, graduating from their program August 2026 or later. Proof of enrollment will be required.
  • Available for 40-hrs/week, for 10-12 weeks during summer 2026, with daily on-site presence at our offices in Downtown Washington, D.C.
