About First Tee Birmingham: First Tee Birmingham is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values, and promote healthy choices through the game of golf. First Tee Birmingham is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Programs Coordinator Intern. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in non-profit management and event coordination while making a meaningful impact on the lives of youth in our community. The Programs Coordinator Intern will work closely with the Executive Director and other staff members to support day-to-day operations and assist in the planning and execution of events and programs.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Executive Director in coordinating and implementing programs and events aimed at youth development through golf.
- Help with administrative tasks such as scheduling, data entry, and maintaining program records.
- Communicate with program participants, volunteers, and partners to ensure smooth program delivery and foster positive relationships.
- Aid in the recruitment, training, and coordination of volunteers for program activities and events.
- Assist in the development of marketing materials and promotional strategies to increase program visibility and participation.
- Support the planning and execution of fundraising events and initiatives to support the organization's mission.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and other organizational activities as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall goals and objectives of First Tee Birmingham.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program, preferably in a related field such as non-profit management, sports management, education, or communications.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with database management systems is preferred.
- Passion for youth development, sports, and community engagement.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed for events and programs.
