For over 25 years VestedIn has served West Philadelphia as the “Economic Engine” that provides capital to small businesses and entrepreneurs and the bridge that connects financial literacy and wealth building within the community. VestedIn now serves as a leading CDFI, a certified Community Development Financial Institution, dedicated to the advancement and empowerment of businesses and residents throughout the Philadelphia community and certain surrounding counties in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. VestedIn provides loans and grants to small businesses, small business technical assistance, our youth empowerment program known as the WesGold Fellows, and also serves as the co-owner and developer of the ParkWest Town Center in West Philadelphia. VestedIn proudly partners with Drexel University to hire college Coordinators for our WesGold Fellows program. WesGold Fellows is a comprehensive year-long fellowship program for HS students that provides personal and professional development, commencing with an eight-week summer internship led by the WGF Coordinators.

Over the course of the next six months, you will be meeting some wonderful people, developing your personal and professional skills, and experience unique opportunities all in preparation for facilitating a youth internship that is extremely meaningful to the high schoolers in the community. This is a summer experience that is amazing for both college Coordinators (who lead) and high school Fellows (who participate) in the program.
WesGold Fellows Coordinator Role Hiring Description
VestedIn is seeking self-driven, detail oriented, entrepreneurial, creative, and community economic development focused candidates who have a desire to mentor and work with youth in a corporate setting. Join us for a 4-to-6-month leadership, personal, professional, and youth development opportunity. This is not a cubicle and data entry position! Coordinators receive intensive professional development, as well as community economic development training to then lead our Fellows through a rigorous in-person curriculum and learning based summer internship experience as WesGold Fellows Coordinators. WesGold Fellows is a comprehensive year-long fellowship program for high school students that provides personal and professional development and commences with an eight-week summer internship.
This position has three main components. Your initial eight weeks are dedicated to training and onboarding. The next eight weeks are dedicated to implementing your training through facilitation of the WesGold Fellows High School internship. Your final eight weeks are dedicated to program closeout & reporting as well as preparation, for the annual WesGold Fellows and Founders’ Gala.
During the initial eight weeks, working on hybrid remote/in-person schedule, Coordinators receive training and complete assignments in a variety of areas including, but not limited to, corporate structure and systems, human resources, DEI, leadership styles, youth facilitation, recruiting, interviewing and hiring, career planning, finance, entrepreneurship, real estate, marketing, and fiscal reporting, including data and impact messaging. Each Coordinator benefits from networking and opportunities to connect directly with industry professionals, workshops and public speaking sessions, experiential learning opportunities, uniquely engaging experiential learning trips, including two paid out of state work trips, as well as other personal and professional development training.
The following eight weeks, working on an in-person schedule, Coordinators reflect the results of the intensive training and professional development which prepares them to effectively lead the WesGold Fellows program. WesGold Fellows is a comprehensive year-long fellowship program for HS students that provides personal and professional development and kicks off with an eight-week summer internship. Our HS Fellows are divided into small cohorts ( approximately 10) led by our college Coordinators. Over the course of eight weeks, using peer-based learning, Coordinators facilitate the summer experience that commences the fellowship and impacts the lives of youth forever.
Coordinators complete their final eight weeks, working on a hybrid remote/in-person schedule, by assisting in the development of upcoming networking and learning opportunities, preparation and presentation of summer reports to stakeholders, and planning for our annual gala.
WesGold Fellows currently operates using a hybrid remote/in-person schedule during the six-month position. Please note the descriptions above. There are opportunities for ongoing employment based on performance. Background check required.

Compensation Information:
Hourly Pay Rate: $18.50
Other: This is a seasonal full time. Overtime is available. Coordinators can expect pre-scheduled overtime during our out of state work trips to DC & NY. Coordinators are provided with various forms of paid transportation to program locations (in and out of state), complimentary access to unique opportunities, and often receive lunch on partners or VestedIn.
