The Richmond Campus of Bryant & Stratton College is accepting applications for a full-time Career Services Advisor.
Position Summary:
This position as a Career Services Advisor ensures that the career needs of the student and employment outcomes of the College are achieved. Bryant & Stratton College Career Services Advisors will be responsible for providing counseling and instruction in interviewing, resume preparation, job application, pre-interview preparation and job acceptance negotiation that matches applicant’s objectives.
The Career Services Advisor will coach/advise students in developing personal marketing strategies to secure a job and negotiate a fair compensation package, assisting in developing strategies, to help the Career Services department achieve Career Services goals and objectives. The Career Services Advisor will help to ensure the relevant career outcomes are achieved, along with the direction of the Career Services Director.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Effectively manage internal relationships that impact the career preparedness of the student by providing counseling and instruction in interviewing, resume preparation, job application, pre-interview preparation and job acceptance negotiation that matches applicant’s objectives. Partner with faculty and staff to ensure integration of career services messaging in student life, including conducting classroom presentations. Coach/advise students in developing personal marketing strategies to secure a job and negotiate a fair compensation package.
- Communicate with employer partners to effectively manage employer relationships, including identifying relevant employment opportunities, verifying employment, and coordinating non-clinical internships. Plan and execute career-related events with employer partners.
- Support the attainment of employment goals relative to employment and salary.
- Coordinate participation in community events and professional associations with Career Services Director, promoting the college to area employers and influencers.
- Demonstrate solid product knowledge to articulate value in Career Services to current and prospective relationships both internal and external.
- Daily use of Microsoft Excel to track student and employer activities and outcomes.
- Collect and maintain data/status of job orders with daily/weekly contact and follow up with employers.
- Maintain internal reports assessing department performance relevant to key performance indicators.
- Work with other campus associates towards achieving campus-wide goals and objectives.
- Work collaboratively with Career Services Director to ensure the needs of employers are effectively matched with skills/qualifications of grads and interns.
- Perform other duties as requested by the Career Services Director.

Preferred/Specialized Qualifications:
- Emphasis in counseling, human resource management, business management, education or a related degree program.
- Experience in an educational setting preferred.
- 1-3 years demonstrated experience collaborating with employers and/or students for business and career development.
