The Accountant I serves as a key team player in the Accounting Department, particularly during the month-end close and to ensure the financial integrity of all general ledger accounts. This position plays a key role in developing process efficiencies to meet reporting deadlines, as well as, identifying areas of opportunity and risk associated with current and future accounting policies. Significant attention to detail, and the ability to work through complex accounting and software technical procedures in a fast-moving, dynamic environment is a must.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Exercise a high level of professionalism and confidentiality when working with staff, projects, and proprietary information.
- Accountable for all cash transactions; maintain accurate records and provide timely, accurate reporting as required. Maintain daily and month bank reconciliation.
- Adhere to a month-end close checklist.
- In charge of processing company credit card transactions, weekly Rebar invoices, subcontractor invoices and certain large volume vendor invoices such as WEX, Verizon, and Enterprise.
- Perform month end duties such as direct OH allocation, small jobs allocations, inventory allocations.
- Review monthly credit card reconciliations and charges for proper coding and expense allocation.
- Serve as back up for other duties within the accounting group.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience and Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting required.
- Minimum of 2 years of progressive accounting experience is required.
- Construction industry experience preferred.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience withViewpoint accounting softwarea plus.
- Internal / External Financial or Compliance audit experience preferred.
