Welcome to the Ohio Expo Center and State Fairgrounds! We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate Human Resources Intern to join our team for the Ohio State Fair season. The HR Intern is responsible for providing support in functional areas of the Human Resources department. Primary responsibility includes full cycle recruitment for seasonal and part time staff of the Ohio State Fair. This role will provide you with valuable learning opportunities and exposure to the fast-paced world of HR in a dynamic environment. Qualifications
High School graduate
Enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate accredited University
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Regularly complete work with high quality and in a timely manner
Ability to quickly learn new tasks
Ability to take directions well
Ability to adapt to an active environment, multi-tasking is often required
Provide a high level of customer service in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency with computer software, particularly the Microsoft Office Suite
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills
Responsibilities
Support the HR team with special projects as needed. Perform other responsibilities or activities as requested or needed.
Develop a fundamental understanding of HR and company policies, procedures, and benefits to assist with special projects.
Maintain accurate, appropriate, and timely documentation.
Maintain strict confidentiality of all information associated with employment applications and background checks.
Create, maintain, and update files, records, spreadsheets, databases, forms, and miscellaneous materials to meet objectives.
Provide general administrative support to the Human Resources department.
Communicate effectively with all employees and team members

Experience behind the scenes functions of the Ohio State Fair across multiple departments
Hours: Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in June and July. You will be required to work shifts on two Saturdays in July; July 18, and July 25, 2026.
Dates of employment: Monday, June 1 - Thursday, Aug. 13, 2026, (tentative based on school schedules). The entire internship may not exceed 14 working weeks. State holidays, May 25, June 19, and July 3, are non-working days.
Extended hours during the Fair: During the 12 days of the Fair, July 29 - Aug. 9, 2026, extended hours may be required. Interns are not permitted to take time off during the Ohio State Fair.
