About the Position

Altus Power is currently seeking highly motivated summer interns to work with our Investment and Structured Finance team. 

Responsibilities:

  • Underwriting solar, battery energy storage system ("BESS") and EV charging investment opportunities
  • Understand risk versus return profile of solar and clean energy assets as compared to other investment alternatives.
  • Develop understanding of drivers behind project cash flows and how each respective assumption effects investment return
  • Develop financial modeling skills for project finance, specifically focused on solar and clean energy investment opportunities
  • Due diligence/project closing support for senior staff
  • Gain an understanding of various core documents such as Membership Interest Purchase Agreements, Leases, Power Purchase Agreements and Letters of Intent.
  • Learn about SREC/REC markets and the drivers behind the supply/demand dynamics 
  • Develop an understanding of tax equity partnerships and assist staff members in tax equity closing process.
  • Learn about various asset management functions (invoicing, customer relations, financial reporting, cash distribution waterfall, etc.)
  • Assist with production monitoring to ensure solar assets are performing in-line with baseline projections. 
  • Support the investment team by putting together marketing materials and presentations
  • Interact with the engineering team to learn about equipment procurement and pricing
  • Engage in interconnection studies and getting projects through utility interconnections queues
  • Improve communication skills – in-person, virtual meetings, telephone, and email
  • Support senior staff members with all tasks
