Head of School

Faith Academy is located in Iowa City, Iowa. We are a K-8 school with 130 students. Faith exists to provide an excellent Christian education to the at-risk, low-income population. Faith Academy was awarded the Yass prize in 2023 and was acknowledged by Iowa Association of Christian Schools as the outstanding school in January of 2024.


The Head of School will lead the spiritual atmosphere of the school as well as oversee the
Principal (Curriculum Director), facility, development and operations. The Head of School is
involved with community outreach, relationship building and philanthropic activities for the
school.

Job Requirements:
The Head of School will agree and live by the Faith Academy Statement of Faith and be involved in a local church that supports those beliefs.
The Head of School will directly oversee the Principal and the Operations Director. He or she will have oversight responsibilities of non-instructional staff, the business office and finance.


Responsibilities Include:
-Spiritual Leadership: The Head of School will set the spiritual tone of the school. They will  oversee the Chaplain and chapel speakers.
-Visionary Leadership: The Head of School will participate in short and long-range strategic
planning, outreach to community and churches and community outreach events within the
school.
-Organizational Leadership: The Head of School will work with the Board of Directors to achieve the vision and mission of the school.
-Administrative Leadership: The Head of School will establish and carry out school policy, participate in hiring and supervision of staff. They will maintain partnership with local churches and organizations to fulfill the mission of the school.
-Financial and Fundraising leadership: The Head of School will oversee operational costs and expenses. Engage and grow relationships with partnering churches, build community and donor support and implement fundraising events.

Educational Requirements:
A master’s degree in leadership, education and, or administration is necessary.
Additional relevant experience would include urban educational involvement, non-profit
organization and financial acumen.
Related Benefits:
Salary is dependent on job experience and will be set between $80,000 and $115,000.
