The Role: 

The Data & Analytics Engineering team is looking for a proactive, positive, and dynamic Data Science intern to join our team. You will have a passion for technology, collaboration and creative problem solving.

 

As a member of the team you will work with supervision and guidance to apply basic engineering and data science skills, tool, practices and techniques to all the teams deliverables. You'll work with Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers and Data Engineers to deliver client centered solutions by collaborating with cross-functional groups and contribute to the overall development.

This position will be based out of our Wellesley, MA office and interns must be able to work on a hybrid basis.

Preferred skills:

Experience with data science platforms such as RStudio, AWS Sagemaker or Dataiku

Experience with programming languages and frameworks used in data science such as Python, R, Panadas, Shiny, Bokeh and Dash

Experience with cloud computing environments and advantage especially in data processing and Artificial Intelligence services (for example AWS Sagemaker, Comprehend, Athena and Textract)

Experience with data visualization platforms such as Tableau, Quicksight and ThoughtSpot

Basic Understanding of IT systems

Excellent Communication skills

Excellent verbal and written skills

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

Detail oriented individual

 

The Candidate:

To be eligible for an internship at Sun Life, you must meet the following requirements:

Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university during the time of internship (June 2026 – August 2026)

Must be enrolled in an undergraduate student in Data Science, Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study

Eligible to legally work in the United States

Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) during the Intern session

 

Compensation for this role will be around $20 an hour
