Do you want to help make a difference on how California Air Resources Board (CARB) protects the health of communities impacted by toxic emissions? CARB's Exposure Reduction Section, a part of the Transportation and Toxics Division, is seeking a current student who has applied to or is enrolled in a college curriculum in engineering or the sciences to work part-time in CARB's air toxics programs. CARB is a dynamic and innovative leader in developing and implementing measures and policies to improve the air quality for all California residents.
The successful candidate will perform literature review of characteristics and health effects of airborne toxics; assist staff with data gathering and technical analyses necessary to perform health risk assessments; and may attend and provide support during community outreach meetings. Under the supervision of the section manager and in conjunction with Scientists and Engineers, the Air Resources Technician II (ART II) may assist with analyzing and quantifying emissions from sources of air toxics and may conduct research, document review, data analysis and data management, and meet with stakeholders to support program activities. The ART II may also work to ensure program documents meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements.
