Summer Staff- Media Staff

MEDIA STAFF 

Job Description

Requirements:     1.    At least 18 years of age

                                    2.    Commitment to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord

                                    3.    Familiarity with video production, DSLR cameras, and photo editing

 

Primary Responsibilities:

Video

  1. GENEVA’s media staff is expected to produce a twelve to fifteen minute video of each camp session that will be shown at the closing of each camp week and be available for purchase. Included in accomplishing this role are the following:
    1. Devise an outline of the basic script to guide what needs to be shot throughout the week
    2. Shoot, edit and duplicate video, ensuring that each camper, each staff member, and the major activities of the week are included on the video
    3. Secure permission for any copyrighted music used as a part of the video
  2. Meet regularly with supervisor for review of product.
  3. Review the video program at the end of the summer, including suggestions for equipment updates, advice for future staff and any recommendations for how it could be improved for the coming summer
  4. Work with other media staff to create additional videos to include an orientation video, staff video, summer highlight video and summer staff recruiting video

 

Photography

  1. Photograph a variety of activities and campers throughout t he day  
  2. Upload pictures to smugmug daily for camper parents to view 
  3. Capture images that can be used in marketing for the following summer 
  4. Take pictures of staff members to be used in summer staff recruiting and end of summer materials

 

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Attend all meetings as required of staff (orientation, daily, weekly, staff retreat)
  2. Work to create a positive spiritual atmosphere throughout camp
  3. Assist other program staff in carrying out the weekly program as able and needed (helping with songs and skits, celebration, or other camp activities)
  4. Be aware of camper behavior throughout camp, confronting negative acts when needed and encouraging positive involvement
  5. Report all equipment needs or damages and all maintenance requests to the site coordinator
  6. Function as a full member of the summer staff, participating in activities, building relationships, carrying out the ministry of GENEVA throughout the summer
