Job Code: Clinical Reports To:   Senior Manager, Public Health Initiatives 

Classification:  Non-exempt/24 hr/week Hourly rate: $25/hr 

Location: Boston, remote with some in-person required 

Effective Date: Dec 2025-Dec 2026 

 

The Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers (League) was founded in 1972 as one of the country's first state Primary Care Associations (PCAs). Established under the same federal authorizing legislation as the health center program (Section 330 of the Public Health Service Act), PCAs are organized around a set of core functions and competencies that provide a framework for support and assistance to health centers and the communities they serve. The League is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization registered as a public charity with the Commonwealth's Secretary of State. It maintains a professional staff at its headquarters in Boston and its training center in Worcester. 

 

Position Summary:  

This position reports to the Senior Manager of Public Health Initiatives within the Clinical Affairs Team. The Clinical Affairs Team supports community health centers across Massachusetts and is dedicated to advancing programs grounded in social justice and health equity. 

The intern will contribute to projects aimed at increasing cancer screening rates at health centers. 

 

Essential Functions: 

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: 

Designing and facilitating learning sessions and best practice webinars 

Conducting disparities analyses and generating reports 

Analyzing data to identify trends and areas for improvement 

Identifying resources and opportunities for health center staff 

Conducting needs assessments and resource mapping 

Supporting Clinical Affairs initiatives internally and in collaboration with health centers across the state 

This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in public health programming, data analysis, and health equity-focused initiatives. 

 

Competencies/Skills: 

Commitment to social justice, health equity, and serving under-resourced communities. 

Strong Communication Skills. Ability to clearly communicate in both written and verbal formats.  

Analytical and Data Skills. Experience with data collection, analysis, and reporting.  

Organizational and Project Management Skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines. Experience supporting events or learning sessions is a plus. 

Collaboration and Teamwork. Comfortable working in a collaborative team environment and with external stakeholders. 

Technical Proficiency. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Zoom or other webinar platforms, and data tools like Excel or Google Sheets. 

 

Education/Experience: 

Undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Health Sciences, Biology, Sociology, Psychology, Nursing, or a related field. 

Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required; knowledge of statistical software (e.g., SPSS, SAS, or R) is a bonus. 

 

Requirements: 

The physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to talk and hear regularly. The employee must be able to remain in a stationary position 80% of the time. The employee needs to move inside and outside the office to access file cabinets, office equipment, meet with community partners at different sites. The position requires occasionally lifting office products and supplies up to 50 pounds and traveling to various locations for meetings.
