Reports to: Director of Recreation and Community Education
Qualifications: Preferred candidates will have earned a college degree in Education or a related field. Significant preference will be given to those who hold a teaching license in Early and Elementary Education and have management experience in an educational setting.
Program Overview: The Connects Before and After School program is part of the Recreation and Community Education Department of the Whitefish Bay School District and is currently seeking a dynamic and talented Program Site Manager. During the summer months, this position will coordinate one of the many summer camp programs offered by the Whitefish Bay Recreation Department. The candidate must be an energetic team player, who is willing to be flexible to meet the changing needs of the workplace.
Terms of Employment:
12-month position M-F, 7:00 am-6:00 pm School Year/7:30 am-5:30 pm Summer. The manager will work a varied 8-hour period during program hours. Some overtime may be required.
Starting Salary Range: $18.51-$21.00 a benefits package that includes health, vision, and dental benefits, life insurance, long-term disability, flexible spending, vacation and sick pay, employer-sponsored retirement, and an optional 403B.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage facility use, the staff, schedule, volunteers, and all aspects of the Cumberland Before and After School Program and the assigned Summer Camp.
- Oversee the development of curriculum and lesson plans that integrate the WEMLS and SACF domains into the program.
- Create daily student schedules of activities and assist in the planning of summer field trips.
- Lead and supervise youth in program activities.
- Oversee the supply budget and recommend all supplies and equipment that will support the curriculum, lesson plans, and activities.
- Develop a parent newsletter and other related forms of communication to distribute to families and the school community.
- Organize and/or facilitate monthly staff meetings and yearly professional development and summer training sessions.
- Build communication and establish relationships with school-day staff to provide optimal opportunities for program linkages to the school day.
- Plan and organize two family events per year for Connects.
- Conduct performance evaluations for staff and program volunteers.
- Any other relative duties that may be assigned by the Director.
