Marketing Communications Specialist
TITLE: MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST
JOB SUMMARY: Work independently and collaboratively to provide the community, students, parents, educators and staff with information about St. Joseph County ISD mission, goals and services.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications or related field such as Business Administration.
- Two years of experience in related field, preferred.
- Posses the ability to:
- Work with computers and computer software.
- Organize short and long term projects.
- Knowledge of social media platforms and marketing.
- Excellent communication, public relations and interpersonal skills.
- High organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong ability to problem-solve and apply principles of logical thinking.
- Demonstrate initiative, work independently and assume responsibility.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Responsibility of employee to obtain and maintain all training(s), certificate(s), approval(s), etc. and provide documentation to the business office before expiration date of said document(s).
- Must be able to lift 20 pounds.
- Required to have a physical presence at the designated job site each scheduled work day.
- Must have regular and reliable job attendance, performance, and the physical ability to do the job.
ISD PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works cooperatively with administrative team to manage internal and external communications
- Maintain and update internal and external website including creation of document, pages and source content, including website accessibility (ADA compliance)
- Maintain social media accounts
- Work in coordination with social media sites to issue press releases and updates to grow our presence and awareness of our initiatives in the county
- Drive the mission with constant communication, updates, and ordering incentives as the ambassador of the ISD
- Attend ISD held events for communication and updates as well as outside events that could impact the organization
- Organize and attend job fairs
- Provide photography and videography support at ISD events, classrooms and workplaces
- Travel to various ISD offsites to support site specific marketing needs
- Create and maintain demonstration of tutorials on HR and Business Office processes/procedures
- Create and maintain a database of ISD events and outside events that pertain to the ISD, photographs and proper releases for sharing
- Maintain updates to internal documents, forms and google drive accounts
- Attend team meetings as requested
- Assist with special projects within the Human Resources and Business Office departments
- All other duties as assigned by the Human Resources & Communications Manager and Assistant Superintendent of Finance, Operations and Human Resources

PERFORMANCE APPRAISALS: Human Resources & Communications Manager
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a 260 day position. Salary and conditions of employment are determined by the Board of Education.
