
Commercial Photographer Scanner
Hancock’s of Paducah is seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Commercial Photographer/Scanner to join our creative production team. This role is essential to capturing and digitizing our extensive collection of quilting fabrics and sewing products for online and print marketing. The ideal candidate combines strong technical skill with artistic precision—producing images that showcase true color, texture, and pattern while meeting fast-paced production goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Photography: Capture professional, color-accurate photographs of quilting fabrics, pre-cuts, kits, and related products for e-commerce listings, promotional materials, and social media.
- Flatbed Scanning: Operate high-resolution flatbed scanners to digitize fabric yardage and swatches, ensuring precise color matching, pattern alignment, and fabric texture representation.
- Editing & Optimization: Retouch and prepare images using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, Bridge, and Illustrator) for web, print, and marketing use.
- Color Accuracy & Calibration: Maintain calibrated monitors, scanners, and lighting systems to ensure color consistency across all images.
- Time Management: Prioritize and process large daily workloads efficiently while maintaining accuracy and meeting established publishing deadlines.
- File Management: Organize, label, and archive digital assets using SKU-based naming conventions and internal file structure standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing, product, and e-commerce teams to ensure photography aligns with brand presentation and seasonal promotions.
- Equipment Care: Maintain studio lighting, cameras, scanners, and Macintosh workstations for optimal performance.
Qualifications
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, Bridge) on a Macintosh/Apple environment.
- Strong understanding of color correction, lighting, and image composition.
- Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively, prioritize multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
- Experience with flatbed or large-format scanning and digital file organization.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accurate color and texture reproduction.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with quilting fabrics, textile design, and pattern repeat imaging.
- Knowledge of digital asset management systems (DAM) and file automation workflows.
- Experience in commercial or product photography, preferably in the textile, quilting, or fabric retail industry.
Compensation & Benefits
