Trust Operations Manager
Summary
Dougherty Trust Company is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Trust Operations Manager to oversee daily operations and ensure regulatory compliance across our trust services team. This dual-role position is ideal for a professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about both operational efficiency and regulatory integrity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:
Operations Management
- Manage the daily operations of the trust company, including account setup, maintenance, distributions, and reporting.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate execution of trust activities.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of trust transactions, including cash movements, asset transfers and fee assessments.
- Maintain and improve operational workflows, documentation standards and internal controls.
- Oversee the administration of trusts including onboarding, annual reviews, valuation and reporting.
- Work cross-departmentally with the investment, trust, tax, and leadership team on the continued improvement of processes and workflows.
Trust Compliance
- Oversee the preparation of materials and reporting for quarterly Trust Committee and Board Meetings.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and industry regulations
- Maintain and update internal compliance programs, policy and procedure manual and training materials.
- Manage examinations performed by South Dakota Division of Banking
- Stay current with changes in trust laws, fiduciary standards, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Law or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in trust operations, fiduciary services, or financial compliance
- Understanding of trust laws, fiduciary standards, and regulatory frameworks
- Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA) not required but preferred

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week.
Travel
Anticipated annual travel includes approximately six (6) over-night trips to Sioux Falls, South Dakota for trust administration activities and/or Trust Committee Meeting attendance.
