Marketing and Social Media Intern

About SteamUp Academy:

STEAMUP Academy was born out of advanced research and feasibility studies into areas of growth in the educational offering in Orlando, Kissimmee, and Seminole County. This research and data provided a baseboard for our mission, vision, and purpose.

Position Overview:

This internship provides students the opportunity to work with the Founder and obtain invaluable marketing experience. Students may be eligible to receive college credit (if applicable). Additionally, this is an unpaid opportunity with flexible hours.

Responsibilities:

  • Intimate understanding of traditional and emerging marketing channels
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to think creatively and innovatively
  • Measure the success of every social media campaign
  • Analytical skills to forecast and identify trends and challenges
  • Familiarity with the latest trends, technologies and methodologies in graphic design, web design, production, etc.
  • Assist in the growth of the company by raising awareness through various social media platforms
  • Liaise with STEAMUP Academy staff on the development of media, marketing materials and announcements
  • Communicate with senior management about marketing initiatives and project metrics, as well as to brainstorm fresh strategies
  • Interact with followers and potential customers by communicating and answering questions through the company's social pages
  • Create content as needed
  • Identify weaknesses in existing marketing campaigns and develop pragmatic solutions within budgetary constraints
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Outgoing personality and professional appearance
  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced and collaborative team environment
  • Ability to provide oversight of volunteers and offer direction as needed
