Operational Services Division – Who are we?
The Operational Services Division (OSD) is a Massachusetts state agency within the Executive Office for Administration and Finance (A&F). We oversee and enforce procurement regulations, policies, and practices applicable to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Executive Branch Departments for goods and services and small-scale construction services. This results in the direct management of more than 100 Statewide Contracts that generate over $2 billion a year in purchasing. We also manage the Commonwealth’s passenger and light duty vehicle fleet, oversee Uniform Financial Reporting by Human and Social Service Vendors, and establish special education tuition prices.
What we are looking for:
We are seeking two interns to work with the Category Management team in driving efficiencies both operationally and administratively within the department. Interns are required to be thorough, have creative minds and willing to bring solutions through their own ideas.
The internship is at OSD’s Offices, which are located at One Ashburton Place, Boston Massachusetts. Depending on the existing state guidelines at the time of hire (currently hybrid), the internship may be remote.
Responsibilities and Tasks (including but not limited to):
Package Document Project-development of a post award PDF package (W-9, CASL, EFT) which is sent to one individual for completion and execution. The package should include a a sample completion instruction guide.
Amazon Business/Government Project-analyze, review, and prepare a presentation on the capabilities of the platform as it relates to MA eligible entity buyers (there has been a significant amount of chatter lately relating to Muni's using the platform as their default due to ease of process).
Category Management File Project-review and propose updates to the 3 main Sharepoint File structures (Procurement Files, Job Aides, Templates). Proposal should include updates to naming conventions, relevancy of contents, archiving.
