Property Management Intern

Job Title: Property Management & Leasing Assistant Intern

Location: Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex

Compensation: Both Paid and Unpaid Internship Opportunities Available

The Collins Company is a full-service commercial and residential real estate firm with over 40 years of experience in the Dallas Metroplex. We specialize in property management, leasing, sales, investments, and short-term rentals. We are seeking motivated students interested in pursuing a career in real estate to join our team as interns and gain valuable hands-on experience in the field.
 

Position Summary

This internship offers students the opportunity to develop practical skills in real estate management, leasing, and investment. Interns will assist with day-to-day property management operations and support leasing activities while working alongside experienced real estate professionals. Internship positions may be either paid or unpaid, depending on availability and qualifications.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Organize, create, and track tenant work orders
  • Inspect properties and verify completion of work orders
  • Assign tasks to maintenance staff and prepare material/supply lists
  • Order materials and supplies for ongoing projects
  • Assist with rent collection and tenant relationship management
  • Support marketing efforts for vacant units
  • Generate reports and work with Excel spreadsheets
  • Learn to use QuickBooks for property-related accounting
  • Assist with make-ready processes for new tenants
  • Secure and review bids from vendors and contractors
  • Participate in property inspections and recommend repairs

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a junior college, college, or university program (Business, Real Estate, Finance, or related field preferred)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
  • Willingness to learn new technology and software (QuickBooks, property management systems)
  • Professional, courteous, and customer-service oriented
  • Interest in pursuing a career in real estate
