Co-op, Pharmacovigilance Scientist

About This Role:

This application is for a 6-month student role from January - June 2026. Resume review begins in October 2025.

 

As a co-op, you will be an integral part of the Pharmacovigilance (PV)/Safety team, which is dedicated to transforming the lives of patients with severe immune-mediated diseases. This team plays a critical role in ensuring patient safety, compliance, and continuous improvement. In this dynamic position, you will gain hands-on experience in PV/Safety science within the fast-paced biotech/pharma industry. Your contributions will support areas such as literature review, safety data analysis, and aggregate safety reports, helping to evaluate safety data and understand evolving product safety profiles. Your work will not only support the team’s efforts but also help you learn the principles of safety surveillance and evaluation, preparing you for compliance with global PV regulations and guidance.

 

What You’ll Do

Actively participate in team meetings and assist with meeting minutes 

Support PV projects, resolve pending action items and track their status

Support the clinical scientific literature review and monitoring

Support the review and analysis of safety data arised from various sources

Support the authoring and revision of scientific documents including aggregate safety reports

Contribute to process improvement activities within the PV/Safety team.

Demonstrated experience in analysis and interpretation of clinical and/or scientific data

Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, SharePoint, Power Point, Word, MS Teams

Strong analytical skills

Team player who desires to collaborate with pharmacovigilance/safety and cross functional team members

Excellent written and verbal communication

Willingness to learn, be mentored, and improve

 

To participate in the Biogen Internship Program, students must meet the following eligibility criteria:

Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date.

Currently enrolled in an accredited community college, college, university or skills program/apprenticeship.

 

Education

Third year or higher into Advanced Degree programs (Ph.D. in life science (e.g. Biology, Pharmacology, Toxicology, Epidemiology), or NP, or PharmD) required

Prior experience of scientific publications (Abstracts and or journal articles) preferred


 

Job Level: Internship


Additional Information

 

The base compensation range for this role is: $29.00-$33.00


The actual hourly wage offered will consider the candidate’s current academic level and degree candidacy, inclusive of Associate, Bachelor’s, Master’s, JD, MD, PhD and MBA programs. It will comply with state or local minimum wage requirements specific to the job location.
