SUMMARY OF POSITION

In accordance with the mission and values of The Village of St. Edward, the Cook is responsible for all aspects of food preparation including; prep, cooking, baking, slicing, roasting, etc. in accordance with state regulations.  Will prepare meals from scratch and keep accurate inventory control. May serve to the residents to meet operational needs. 

Requirements:

  • High School education or equivalent 
  • One (1) year of experience cooking
  • One (1) year experience in Nursing Home/Hospital type setting as a cook preferred
  • Servsafe required or paid training to obtain within 3 months of hire 
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Able to comprehend written and verbal instructions.
  • Able to perform basic math calculations, i.e. weights, temperatures, fractions, measurements, etc.
  • Able to measure solids and liquids according to recipe specifications.
