The Summer Camp Admin is a key member of the leadership team, providing the administrative backbone that allows the camp to function smoothly every single day.

This role blends leadership with hands-on support, ensuring that staff and programs have what they need to succeed. From organizing supplies and schedules to stepping in with camper support and parent communication, the Summer Camp Admin is the go-to person for making sure “the little things” don’t get missed — because at Camp Sonshine, the little things make a big difference.

The Summer Camp Admin makes this possible by ensuring that all the moving parts behind the scenes — schedules, supplies, logistics, camper support — run smoothly, freeing counselors and leaders to focus on loving and leading campers.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily Operations Management: Support the leadership team in managing day-to-day camp logistics. Assist with schedules, camper assignments, and program flow. Anticipate needs and respond quickly to unexpected challenges.
  • Administrative Support: Gather, organize, and distribute supplies for activities and programs. Help track attendance, forms, and parent communications. Maintain records and systems for camp operations.
  • Camper & Staff Support: Provide extra assistance with campers as needed (behavior support, transitions, emergencies). Serve as an additional resource to counselors and activity leaders. Partner with the leadership team to ensure safety, order, and fun across programs.
  • Leadership Team Collaboration: Work closely with directors and area leaders to keep communication and accountability strong. Jump in wherever needed to help camp programs run with excellence. Model flexibility, problem-solving, and servant leadership for staff.

Time Commitment

Seasonal Role — mid-June through mid-August (exact dates vary)

Full-time hours during camp season; some evening and weekend responsibilities may apply
