Hardware and Support Specialist

Overview

Lifelong Merchant Services/Lifelong POS are seeking a motivated Hardware Programming & Customer Support Specialist to join our local team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working hands-on with hardware, solving technical challenges, and supporting customers with a high level of care. You’ll be the bridge between our products and our client base, ensuring smooth remote installations, reliable performance, and excellent customer experiences. We will train you on our hardware and software solutions but prior experience or measurable aptitude in a technical setting is a plus. This is an in office role (Atlanta area, near Sweetwater Brewing) Monday through Friday 9am - 5pm providing remote support to our client base nationwide. 

 

Key Responsibilities

Hardware Programming & Technical Support

  • Program, configure, and troubleshoot point of sale hardware devices and systems.
  • Assist with remote installation, updates, and integration of point of sale hardware/software solutions.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues locally in office and for clients remotely.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, fixes, and updates.

 

Customer Support

  • Provide responsive and friendly assistance to customers by phone, text, email, etc.
  • Guide clients through system use, basic troubleshooting, and best practices.
  • Translate complex technical information into clear, customer-friendly explanations.
  • Escalate advanced issues to engineering or management teams when necessary.

     

Operations & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve product reliability and usability.
  • Keep track of recurring issues and suggest improvements.
  • Serve as a member of our internal hardware/shipping and support teams. 
  • Participate in training sessions to stay current on new hardware and software features.

     

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience

  • Willingness to learn.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a hands-on approach.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively to manage multiple priorities.

     

Preferred Skills

  • Prior experience in android hardware support, IT, or technical field service.
  • Prior experience using point of sale systems in retail, restaurant, or similar environments.
  • Prior experience with customer support ticketing systems or CRM software.

  • Comfortable working with both technical teams and non-technical customers.
  • Patient, approachable, and eager to teach customers how to get the most from their systems.
  • A proactive mindset with a willingness to learn new hardware technologies.
